Phaethon (3): Sisters’ Amber Tears

Phaethon's sisters, the Heliades, mourn his death by the river and transform into black poplars, shedding tears of amber for their lost brother.  

The photomicrograph was taken using a transmitted light microscopy (4X objective Lens) and digital camera.

The subject formed by micro crystal naturally on the microscope glass slide.
